Bought it non running. When getting the truck I noticed a rusted out valley pan with pin holes, rusted out pitted injection pump and old injectors. Keep filling that chamber with epoxy. And maybe drop a few washers in there for good luck. Put the big nut back on, with epoxy, as well. That will almost completely make the valve a bypass. I tried cleaning the CDR, but I think it got worse after that (no i didnt use compressed air, only a gas bath and air dry).Earlier 7.3 IDI heads have coolant ports facing the intake (valley pan) gasket, which are simply dead-headed there by the gasket. Later model IDIs have plugs pressed into the heads here, so it won't leak even without the valley pan gasket.
